Step 12 of 23
Finish up the bottom wing design with two small loops.
- First small loop (fig. 12a, 12b, 12c).
- Second small loop (fig. 12d).
Then, trim off the excess wire using a wire cutter:
- 20-gauge gold wire (fig. 12e, 12f, 12g).
- 24-gauge gold wire (fig. 12h, 12i).

Step 13 of 23
Take a new string of 24-gauge gold copper wire and secure the loop design as shown (fig. 13a, 13b, 13c).
Then, trim off the excess 24-gauge gold wire from the top Dragonfly wing with a wire cutter (fig. 13d, 13e, 13f, 13g).
Step 14 of 23
Repeat the Dragonfly wing design on the left side of your Dragonfly frame (fig. 14a, 14b, 14c).
Step 15 of 23
Next, face the back of your Dragonfly pendant (fig. 15a).
Take a 24-gauge gold copper wire and coil the 20-gauge curled wire onto your 18-gauge Dragonfly frame (fig. 15b, 15c).
Then, coil along the 18-gauge frame until you reach the bottom of your stone (fig. 15d, 15e, 15f).
Repeat the wire coiling process on the right side of your Dragonfly frame (fig. 15g, 15h).
Step 16 of 23
At the bottom, close the frame by wrapping it up with 24-gauge gold wire (fig. 16a, 16b).
Use a wire cutter to trim off the excess 24-gauge gold wire (fig. 16c).
Checkpoint: This is how your Dragonfly sculpture pendant should look from the front (fig. 16d).
Step 17 of 23
Moving on, pull down the top loose 18-gauge gold wires into a V-shape as shown (fig. 17a, 17b, 17c, 17d, 17e).
Then, use a 24-gauge gold copper wire to coil the V-shape wires (fig. 17f, 17g, 17h, 17i).
Step 18 of 23
Then, coil the remaining 18-gauge gold wires onto the bottom frame (fig. 18a, 18b, 18c, 18d).
Checkpoint: This is how the back and front of your Dragonfly pendant should look (fig. 18e, 18f).
Step 19 of 23
Now, let’s add a beautiful rose bead to your gold Dragonfly sculpture.
Make a wrap around the bottom frame using the loose 24-gauge gold wire (fig. 19a, 19b).
Then, slide in your rose bead onto the 24-gauge gold wire (fig. 19c, 19d, 19e).
After that, make an anchor coil on the 18-gauge frame to hold the rose bead in place (fig. 19f, 19g).
Step 20 of 23
Proceed to weave the 18-gauge gold straight wire base with a simple coil (fig. 20a).
Then, repeat the weaving pattern for 4 more rows that stops right under your rose bead as shown (fig. 20b, 20c).
Now, we will weave a tail structure for the Dragonfly frame.
Firstly, we weave the right side of the tail in the following sequence (fig. 20d, 20e):
- 10 small coils on the inner right 18-gauge gold wire.
- 1 large coil on the inner and outer right 18-gauge gold wire.
Repeat the weaving sequence for 3 times (fig. 20f).
Then, wrap all four 18-gauge gold wires with your 24-gauge gold wire (fig. 20g).
Duplicate the weaving sequence on the left side your Dragonfly tail (fig. 20h).
Lastly, trim off the excess 24-gauge gold wire with a wire cutter (fig. 20i, 20j).
