WIRE-WRAPPING BEADED GOLD DRAGONFLY SCULPTURE PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 23
Ready all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Firstly, use 18-gauge gold copper wire to form the Dragonfly frame (fig. 1b).
Draw half a Dragonfly wing template on a piece of paper as shown (fig. 1c, 1d).
Then, cut two strings of 18-gauge gold copper wire and trace the template (fig. 1e, 1f, 1g).
Lastly, tape the two wire wings together to complete the Dragonfly main frame (fig. 1h).
Step 2 of 23
Next, place a small water drop shaped stone in the middle of your Dragonfly frame (fig. 2a, 2b).
Tie the top of your Dragonfly frame with a 22-gauge silver copper wire and pull them downwards over your stone (fig. 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f).
Then, form half circle on each 18-gauge gold wire at the top surface of your stone. (fig. 2g, 2h, 2i).
Step 3 of 23
Moving on, make a V-shape from the bottom Dragonfly frame wires across the front of your stone (fig. 3a, 3b).
Then, slip the 18-gauge gold wires under the top half circle wires (fig. 3c, 3d).
Continue to wrap the wires downwards, across the back of your frame as shown (fig. 3e, 3f).
Tape the wires to hold them in position (fig. 3g).
You have completed the main frame for your gold Dragonfly sculpture pendant.
Step 4 of 23
Now, let’s work on the details for the top half of your gold Dragonfly wing.
Take a 20-gauge gold copper wire and start on the right side of your Dragonfly wing (fig. 4a, 4b).
Make a small curl on the tip of your gold wire using a round nose pliers (fig. 4c, 4d).
Then, place the curled tip on the back of your stone as shown (fig. 4e, 4f).
