Once the paddle is formed, make 2 diagonal cuts to form the end (fig. 6a, 6b, 6c). File until smooth (fig. 6d, 6e).

Step 7
Feed your 20 gauge wire through the first bead and start wrapping at the base of the swirl to secure. Wrap 5-6 times (fig. 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d). Flip over to prepare to wrap on other side (fig. 7e)

Step 8
Wrap 2-3 time (fig. 8a). Add lava bead and secure with 2-3 wraps (fig. 8b, 8c). Add third bead and start wrapping to secure wire (fig. 8d, 8e).
Step 9
Wrap 5-6 times (fig. 9a). Snip excess wire (at both ends) with wire cutters and tuck ends in with needle nose pliers (fig. 9b, 9c, 9d).
Step 10
This step is optional but I like to add a little texture to the pin. I like to use a ball peen hammer – it makes little “dimples” in the wire (fig. 10a, 10b, 10c). At this point, your hair pin is all done!
