WIRE-WRAPPING HAND-HAMMERED ARTISTIC SHAWL PIN TUTORIAL

Step 1 of 13

Firstly, prepare all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).

Then, sketch the following Designed Template on a piece of paper (fig. 1b).

Take a string of 12 gauge copper wire and trace the first wire frame design template (fig. 1c, 1d).

Step 2 of 13

Use a flat nose pliers to bend your 12-gauge wire into shape (fig. 2a, 2b).

Instead of a sharp tip, you can change the wire frame into a flat tip as shown (fig. 2c, 2d).

Then, tape your wire frame on the template to mark your next joint (fig. 2e, 2f).

After that, hold the base of your wire frame with a nylon jaw pliers and make a twist (fig. 2g, 2h, 2i).

Step 3 of 13

Next, split the wires into a V-shape on your template (fig. 3a).

Then, work on the right loose wire and trace the spiral shape (fig. 3b, 3c).

Note: It is easier to curl your wires using a stepped bail-making pliers.

Trim off the excess wire with a big wire cutter (fig. 3d, 3e, 3f).

Step 4 of 13

Similarly, work on your left loose wire and trace the spiral shape on your template (fig. 4a, 4b, 4c).

Then, trim off the excess wire with a big wire cutter (fig. 4d, 4e).
