WIRE-WRAPPING SIMPLE PENDANT CABOCHON TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 20
Firstly, prepare all items listed in the Materials and Tools section above (fig. 1a, 1b).
Start with a new string of 18-gauge brown copper wire to create a frame for your cabochon stone (fig. 1c, 1d, 1e).
After getting the rough shape of the wire frame, hammer the wire flat for better hold on your cabochon stone (fig. 1f, 1g, 1h).
Step 2 of 20
Secondly, wrap the flatten wire around your cabochon stone and secure the frame with a masking tape (fig. 2a, 2b).
At the top of your stone where the wires meet, use a mini long nose pliers to mark the end of the wire frame with a bend as shown (fig. 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f, 2g).
Then, use a stepped bail-making pliers to curl the bent wires into a round structure on top of the cabochon wire frame (fig. 2h, 2i).
