WIRE-WRAPPING RADIANT BLUE FIRE LABRADORITE PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 15
Ready all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Firstly, let’s form the main wire frame for your sun pendant.
Take a 16-gauge copper wire and wrap a loop at the base of a wooden ring mandrel (fig. 1b, 1c).
Adjust the wire loop according to the size of your fire labradorite stone (fig. 1d, 1e).
Then, mark and bend the extra wire upwards using a chain nose pliers (fig. 1f, 1g).
Step 2 of 15
Secondly, let’s form a secondary inner frame in the shape of a flower.
Draw a round flower design template on a piece of paper as shown (fig. 2a).
Then, take a 20-gauge copper wire and trace the flower template (fig. 2b, 2c, 2d).
Take note that the starting point and ending point of the inner frame are on the same flower petal (fig. 2e).
Step 3 of 15
Thirdly, let’s weave rays of sunlight or sunburst details onto your sun pendant frame.
Use a 24-gauge silver copper wire as the weaving wire (fig. 3a).
Make a few starting coils on the 16-gauge main frame as an anchor point (fig. 3b).
Then, slip in one golden spacer bead and make a stopper coil on the 16-gauge main frame (fig. 3c, 3d).
Step 4 of 15
Next, let’s create the sunray wires by pinching loose coils with a chain nose pliers (fig. 4a, 4b, 4c):
- Small sunray wire (fig. 4d).
- Medium sunray wire (fig. 4e).
- Large sunray wire (fig. 4f).
Finish the design with one of each medium and small sunray wires (fig. 4g).
Repeat a second set of bead and sunray weave combo on your 16-gauge main frame (fig. 4h, 4i).
