WIRE-WRAPPING COPPER ROSE WITH HEART SHAPED RUBY PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 11
Ready all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Cut 2 long strings of 22-gauge copper wire and tape them together (fig. 1b, 1c).
Then, measure 4 inches from the wire end and make a U-bend using a round nose pliers (fig. 1d).
Place a red heart shaped ruby in between the wires, and leave 1 inch space for the pendant bail (fig. 1e, 1f).
After that, mark the bail neck by squeezing the wires together with a round nose pliers (fig. 1g, 1h, 1i).
Step 2 of 11
Next, let’s design the front frame of your heart shaped ruby with the front loose 22-gauge copper wires.
From the bail neck, bend the 22-gauge copper wires into a wide V-shape (fig. 2a, 2b, 2c).
Then, form a figure-8 wire loop in front of the ruby as shown (fig. 2d, 2e, 2f).
Step 3 of 11
Moving on, let’s frame the back of your heart ruby diamond with the back loose 22-gauge copper wires.
Trace the shape of the ruby by lining the side (fig. 3a, 3b, 3c).
Then, cross the wires at the bottom of your ruby and pull the remaining wires upwards (fig. 3d, 3e).
