WIRE-WRAPPING OVAL LABRADORITE TREE OF LIFE STONE PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 14
Ready all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Firstly, let’s create a frame for your tree of life pendant.
Take a 12-gauge copper wire and make a big wire loop (fig. 1b, 1c).
Then, place the wire loop on the back of your oval labradorite stone and tape it (fig. 1d, 1e, 1f).
Note: Make sure the wire loop is within the stone’s area to create a borderless frame effect.
Step 2 of 14
Next, mark the intersecting points on your 12-gauge wire loop with a pen (fig. 2a).
Bend the extra wires into straight lines using a flat nose pliers (fig. 2b, 2c, 2d).
Then, tie them up with a 18-gauge copper wire to close your 12-gauge wire frame (fig. 2e, 2f, 2g, 2h).
Step 3 of 14
Moving on, split the remaining 12-gauge copper wires into a V-shape (fig. 3a, 3b).
Then, curl the wires at base using a wooden ring mandrel as shown (fig. 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f, 3g).
Step 4 of 14
Continue to curl your 12-gauge wire into loops using the wooden ring mandrel (fig. 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d).
Pull the extra 12-gauge copper wires upwards (fig. 4e, 4f).
Then, squeeze the bottom of your wire loops to create a V-shape as shown (fig. 4g, 4h).
