WIRE-WRAPPING LARGE HAMMERED SILVER CIRCLE DROP EARRINGS TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 11
Prepare your work table with all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Create a circle frame for your earrings with a 18-gauge silver copper wire (fig. 1b).
Bend your wire slightly and form a loop at the midpoint using a stepped bail-making pliers (fig. 1c, 1d, 1e).
Then, wrap the remaining wire around a wooden ring mandrel to form a large circle ring frame (fig. 1f, 1g, 1h).
After that, flatten the ring frame with a hammer on a metal base plate (fig. 1i, 1j).
Step 2 of 11
Next, take a 20-gauge silver copper wire to form your gemstone holder (fig. 2a).
Curl one end of your wire using a round nose pliers (fig. 2b).
Then, continue to form a wire spiral disc using a chain nose pliers and nylon jaw pliers on your wire (fig. 2c, 2d, 2e).
Make sure the wire spiral disc covers the back of your gemstone (fig. 2f, 2g).
Bend the extra 20-gauge silver copper wire into a straight line with a chain nose pliers (fig. 2h).
Step 3 of 11
After that, form a small wire ring using a stepped bail-making pliers on a new 20-gauge silver copper wire (fig. 3a, 3b).
Bend the extra wire into a straight line with a chain nose pliers (fig. 3c, 3d).
Then, tape the wire spiral disc and small wire ring onto the back and front of your gemstone accordingly (fig. 3e, 3f).
