Step 4 of 10
Next, we will add details to the pendant cage by using a string of 22-gauge gold wire (fig. 4a).
On the left side of the pendant, slide the 22-gauge wire in between the cage and stone (fig. 4b, 4c).
Then, wrap the 14-gauge wires into a bundle with a single 22-gauge wire coil (fig. 4d).

Continue to make a few more coils until the cage has a tight grip on the stone (fig. 4e, 4f).
Step 5 of 10
After making 5 coils on the main frame, pull the remaining wire behind the frame (fig. 5a, 5b, 5c).
Then, cut the excess wire with a wire cutter (fig. 5d).
This is to prevent the wire from untangling.
Similarly, do the same for the front end of the 20-gauge wire (fig. 5e, 5f).
Pull the excess wire behind the frame and cut it off (fig. 5g, 5h).
Checkpoint for left side pendant with details (fig. 5i).
Step 6 of 10
Moving on, start a new string of 20-gauge gold copper wire and slide it to the top loop of the pendant (fig. 6a).
Start with a few coils and adjust it to the center of the loop as shown (fig. 6b).
Then, continue make a total of 25 coils on the loop and trim off the excess wire (fig. 6c).
Repeat the same coiling pattern with the 20-gauge gold copper wire for the following area:
- Lower right side of pendant loop (fig. 6d, 6e).
- Lower right side of pendant cage (fig. 6f, 6g).
Step 7 of 10
Finish the front detailing of your pendant with a color contrast.
Use a round diamond needle files to scratch off the brown layer of the cage spiral center (fig. 7a, 7b).
