Step 7 of 13
Now, let’s add a centerpiece to your pendant bail with a Swiss blue topaz (fig. 7a).
Frame the gemstone using a new 20-gauge silver copper wire:
- Start framing from the bottom up on front side (fig. 7b).
- Then, make a double frame for the back side (fig. 7c, 7d, 7e).
Place the framed Swiss blue topaz at the center of your wire bail (fig. 7f).

Step 8 of 13
After that, let’s weave the 20-gauge pendant bail wires using a new 26-gauge silver copper wire (fig. 8a, 8b).
Anchor the weaving wire with two small single coils on the bottom and middle bail wires on the right wire bail.
Then, weave the following combo (fig. 8c):
- One medium coil on the top and middle bail wires.
- One large coil over the 3 bail wires.
- One medium coil on the top and middle bail wires.
- Finish with one small coil on the top bail wire, and pull the remaining wire to the opposite wire bail.
- After that, mirror the weave patterns on the left wire bail.
Continue weaving until you cover the back bail neck (fig. 8d, 8e, 8f).
Step 9 of 13
Trim a short length of the outer bail wire and curl the wire end to the front (fig. 9a, 9b, 9c).
Repeat the trimming and curling process for the middle bail wires (fig. 9d, 9e, 9f, 9g).
Note: If the bail wire is too short, curl the wire end in place to avoid surface scratching.
