Step 4 of 13
Next, separate 3 strings of 20-gauge base wire and weave the following combo (fig. 4a, 4b):
- 3 small coils on the top base wire.
- 1 medium coil over the top and middle base wires.
- 1 large coil over the top, middle and bottom base wires.
- Finish with 1 medium coil over the top and middle base wires.
Keep weaving until it is enough to wrap around the corner of your crescent moon stone as shown (fig. 4c).
Repeat the weaving process on the opposite corner of your crescent moon (fig. 4d, 4e, 4f, 4g).

Checkpoint: This is how your silver woven frame should look so far (fig. 4h).
Step 5 of 13
Trim off the excess 26-gauge silver weaving wire on both wire ends (fig. 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d).
Then, use the remaining 3-string 20-gauge silver base wires to design a swirly back stone holder (fig. 5e):
- Right swirly back stone holder design (fig. 5f).
- Left swirly back stone holder design (fig. 5g).
Step 6 of 13
Moving on, let’s form a wire bail using the remaining 2-string 20-gauge silver base wires (fig. 6a, 6b).
Wrap both edges of the crescent moon with a round nose pliers (fig. 6c, 6d, 6e).
Pull the extra wires upward into straight lines and tape it in place (fig. 6f).
Then, curl the wires into a P-shape bail using a stepped bail-making pliers (fig. 6g, 6h).
