WIRE-WRAPPING BLUE AGATE HUMMINGBIRD HEADY COPPER PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 18
Prepare all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Draw a hummingbird design template on a piece of paper as shown (fig. 1b).
Then, take a 18-gauge copper wire and fold it into the shape of the bird beak (fig. 1c, 1d, 1e).
Trace the shape of the bird body and tail with the remaining 18-gauge copper wire (fig. 1f).
Your hummingbird main frame is complete.
Step 2 of 18
Next, let’s frame up a blue oval stone using a 20-gauge copper wire (fig. 2a, 2b).
Frame the wire around the oval stone and bend the extra wires into straight lines (fig. 2c, 2d).
Then, line the straight wires along the back flat side of your stone (fig. 2e, 2f).
Frame the straight wires along the edge of the flat stone surface (fig. 2g, 2h).
The front and back wire frames for your stone is complete.
Step 3 of 18
Now, let’s add the first layer of heady details onto your stone frame with the remaining 20-gauge copper wire.
Make a loop around the front curved surface of your stone (fig. 3a, 3b, 3c).
Then, slip the right loose wire under the front wire frame (fig. 3d, 3e).
Proceed to make a second loop around the back flat surface of your stone (fig. 3f, 3g, 3h).
