WIRE-WRAPPING BLACK OBSIDIAN ARROWHEAD WOVEN BAIL PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 8
Ready all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Firstly, let’s make a woven wire string for your arrowhead pendant.
Take two 18-gauge copper wire strings as base wires, and one 22-gauge copper wire strings as weaving wire (fig. 1b, 1c, 1d).
Then, weave the following combo (fig. 1e):
- 3 small coils on the bottom base wire.
- 3 large coils over both base wires.
- Lastly, 3 small coils on the bottom base wire.
Continue weaving until you have enough length to form a woven bail for your pendant (fig. 1f).
Step 2 of 8
Next, identify the front and back of your arrowhead stone:
- Front side has an angled surface with visible center line (fig. 2a).
- Back side has a flat surface (fig. 2b).
Place the stone base back at the midpoint of the woven wire and tape it (fig. 2c, 2d).
Then, wrap the woven wire along the stone neck front (fig. 2e, 2f, 2g).
Make upward curves with the woven wire (fig. 2h, 2i).
