WIRE-WRAPPING AMMONITE SHELL COILED COIL COPPER PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 12
Ready all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Take a 18-gauge copper wire and make a U-shape curve (fig. 1b, 1c).
Then, frame your ammonite shell from the bottom up with the curved 18-gauge copper wire (fig. 1d, 1e).
Step 2 of 12
Mark the wire overlapping point at the top of your frame (fig. 2a, 2b).
Then, use a chain nose pliers to bend the extra 18-gauge copper wires into straight lines (fig. 2c, 2d).
Curl the straight wires with a stepped bail-making pliers to form a wire bail (fig. 2e, 2f).
Step 3 of 12
Next, split the extra 18-gauge copper wire to form a pendant back stone holder frame (fig. 3a, 3b).
Curl the left wire end into a swirly accent (fig. 3c, 3d).
Then, trim the right wire end short and hook it onto the ammonite shell (fig. 3e, 3f).
Step 4 of 12
Take a 22-gauge copper wire and weave the wire bail using the coiling technique (fig. 4a, 4b, 4c).
