WIRE-WRAPPING ABSTRACT GEOMETRIC ROUND GEMSTONE PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 14
Ready all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Firstly, form a ring by wrapping a 18-gauge copper wire around the wide base of a wooden ring mandrel (fig. 1b, 1c, 1d).
Then, seal the ring with a tape (fig. 1e).
Step 2 of 14
Next, flatten the 18-gauge copper ring with a hammer on a base metal plate (fig. 2a, 2b).
Adjust the ring shape and size using a wooden ring mandrel (fig. 2c, 2d).
Then use a wire cutter to trim off the excess wire (fig. 2e, 2f).
Step 3 of 14
Moving on, form a wire ribbon with 4 strings of 20-gauge copper wire (fig. 3a, 3b).
Measure approximately 2-inches on the wire ribbon and tape it to form the pendant bail later (fig. 3c).
Then, split the wire ribbon into an inverted-V shape wire branches (fig. 3d).
Place the flat copper ring in between the wire branches as shown (fig. 3e).
Note: Layer the left wire branch behind the ring, while the right wire branch is on the front.
Lastly, place your round gemstone at the center of the flat copper ring and tape it in position (fig. 3f).
