  • Silver Copper Wire (18 AWG)
  • Silver Copper Wire (22 AWG)
  • Flat Round Stone Small (1 pc)
  • Wire Cutter
  • Chain Nose Pliers
  • Stepped Bail-Making Pliers
  • Masking Tape
  • Finest Steel Wire Wool

WIRE-WRAPPING DAINTY ROUND RED RUBY STONE PENDANT TUTORIAL

Step 1 of 9

Firstly, gather all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).

Then, prepare the following items:

  • Two strings of 18-gauge silver copper wire (fig. 1b, 1c).
  • One string of 22-gauge silver copper wire (fig. 1d, 1e).

Take note that the 18-gauge wires shall be used as the pendant wire frame.

While the 22-gauge wire shall be used for wire weaving.

Step 2 of 9

Let’s begin with the wire weaving for your pendant wire frame.

Hold the 18-gauge wires together with your 22-gauge wire as shown (fig. 2a).

The basic wire weaving sequence is as follow:

  1. Two big wraps over both 18-gauge wires (fig. 2b, 2c).
  2. Three small wraps on the lower 18-gauge wire  (fig. 2d, 2e, 2f).

Continue the basic wire weaving sequence along the length of your 18-gauge wires:

  • Second set of two big wraps and three small lower wraps (fig. 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f).
  • Third set of the similar wraps (fig. 3g, 3h, 3i).

Checkpoint: This is how your woven wires should look (fig. 3j).

Weave your pendant wire frame until you have the desired length (fig. 4a).

At the front end of your woven wires, trim off the excess 22-gauge wire with a wire cutter (fig. 4b, 4c, 4d).
