WIRE-WRAPPING WOVEN TEARDROP MARBLE GLASS CABOCHON PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 14
Ready all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Cut 4 strings of 18-gauge copper wire that measure 12-inches in length (fig. 1b).
Then, take 3 strings and hammer them flat on a base metal plate (fig. 1c, 1d, 1e).
Gather the round wire and flat wires, and tape them into a wire strip (fig. 1f).
Take a teardrop marble glass cabochon and frame it with the wire strip (fig. 1g, 1h, 1i).
Step 2 of 14
Next, let’s add a beautiful weaving design onto the pendant frame using a 22-gauge copper wire (fig. 2a).
Anchor the 22-gauge weaving wire onto the round 18-gauge wire frame with 3 small coils (fig. 2b).
Then, make 2 small coils on the top flat 18-gauge wire frame (fig. 2c, 2d, 2e).
After that, make one medium coil over the middle and bottom flat wire frames (fig. 2f).
Mirror the weave pattern as you proceed weaving to the right direction (fig. 2g, 2h, 2i).
Step 3 of 14
Continue weaving until you cover the entire pendant frame (fig. 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d).
Place the cabochon back into the woven frame, where the round 18-gauge wire frame indicates the front side (fig. 3e, 3f).
