Take a 18-gauge silver copper wire (fig. 1b), and cut three 18 inch wire strings for your silver base wires (fig. 1c).
Then, ready a 22-gauge silver copper wire for wire-weaving in the next step (fig. 1d).
Step 2 of 22
The wire weaving sequence for your 22-gauge silver copper wire as follow:
- Start with two small coils on the bottom base wire (fig. 2a).
- Step up with two medium coils over the middle and bottom base wires (fig. 2b).
- Step up with two large coils over the top, middle and bottom base wires (fig. 2c).
- Step down with two medium coils over the middle and bottom base wires (fig. 2d).
- End with two small coils on the bottom base wire (fig. 2e).
Repeat this weaving sequence until the end of your base wires (fig. 2f, 2g, 2h).
Step 3 of 22
Trim off the excess 22-gauge silver copper wire with a wire cutter (fig. 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e).
Step 4 of 22
Next, take a 18-gauge gold copper wire and cut three 18 inch wire strings (fig. 4a, 4b).
Similarly, take a 22-gauge gold copper wire to weave the 18-gauge gold base wires (fig. 4c).
Repeat the wire weaving sequence from Step 3 for your gold base wires (fig. 4d, 4e, 4f).
Checkpoint: You have completed two sets of weaved wires in gold and silver color (fig. 4g).
