WIRE-WRAPPING TREE OF LIFE WITH BROWN GEMSTONE IN ROOTS TEARDROP PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 21
Firstly, ready your wires and pliers from the Materials And Tool section on your work table (fig. 1a).
Then, draw a teardrop shaped main frame template on a piece of paper (fig. 1b).
Next, use a 14-gauge brown copper wire and trace the template to form the main frame for your pendant (fig. 1c, 1d, 1e).
Step 2 of 21
Secondly, bend the excess wires into straight lines using a mini long needle nose pliers (fig. 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f).
You now have a teardrop shaped main frame and straight wire for bail making. (fig. 2g).
Step 3 of 21
Thirdly, use the wire-weaving technique to add texture for the pendant bail.
The weaving sequence is as follow:
- Start with a string of 26-gauge gold copper wire and make 2 small starting coils on the left straight wire (fig. 3a, 3b, 3c).
- Then, make 3 big coils on both the straight wires (fig. 3d, 3e).
- Next, make 2 small coils on the right straight wire (fig. 3f).
- Lastly, finish the weaving pattern with 3 big coils on both straight wires (fig. 3g).
Repeat the weaving sequence until it covers one inch of the 14-gauge straight wires (fig. 3h, 3i, 3j).
