WIRE-WRAPPING SWIRLY BLACK BEAD CHARM PENDANT TUTORIAL

Ready your work table with items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Create the main wire frame using a 12-gauge copper wire (fig. 1b).
Smoothen the trimmed end of your wire with a flat diamond needle files (fig. 1c, 1d).
Tip: Remember safety first. Trimmed wire ends are sharp and may scratch your skin.
Then, sketch your pendant template design on a piece of paper as shown (fig. 1e).

Next, curl your 12-gauge wire using a stepped bail-making pliers according to the designed template (fig. 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d).
Tip: Thicker wire is harder to manipulate, so be patient with yourself. You can do it!
Then, smoothen the trimmed ends of your main wire frame with a flat diamond needle files (fig. 2e, 2f, 2g, 2h).
Checkpoint: Your swirly wire frame is complete.
Step 3 of 8
Moving on, let’s add details onto your main frame.
Take a string of 18-gauge copper wire and place it at the top end of your wire frame (fig. 3a, 3b).
Then, coil the 18-gauge wire along the tip of your main frame wire as shown (fig. 3c).
Trim off the excess wire with a wire cutter (fig. 3d, 3e).

Repeat the coiling process on the lower end of your main frame with the 18-gauge wire as shown (fig. 4a, 4b, 4c).
Then, use a wire cutter to trim off the excess wire (fig. 4d, 4e).
