TUTORIAL: CREATING A TUBULAR WEAVE WIRE WRAPPING WITH COILED COIL
Step 1 of 5
Ready all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
First, create your coiled wire using a string of 18-gauge gold copper wire and a wire coiling gizmo.
Note: If this is your first time using a wire coiling gizmo, you can learn the basics here.
Next, prepare a second 18-gauge gold copper wire string and place it at the front end of your coiled wire (fig. 1b, 1c).
Wrap the coiled wire onto your 18-gauge wire to anchor the front end (fig. 1d).
Then, tighten the grip of the wire anchor point with a flat nose pliers (fig. 1e, 1f).

Step 2 of 5
Moving on, hold the flat nose pliers in place as a support and twist the coiled wire around your straight 18-gauge wire as shown (fig. 2a, 2b).
Continue to twist and coil along the straight 18-gauge wire until you reach the end of your coiled wire (fig. 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f).
Checkpoint: The straight 18-gauge gold copper wire acts as the backbone for your coiled coil structure (fig. 2g).

Step 3 of 5
At the end of your coiled wire, use a needle nose pliers to make an anchor point on the 18-gauge wire (fig. 3a, 3b).
Checkpoint: This is how your tubular weave coil structure should look (fig. 3c).

Step 4 of 5
Now, let’s add a new texture layer onto your tubular weave coil structure for a dainty touch.
Start with a string of 22-gauge gold copper wire and make an anchor point at the end of your coiled wire (fig. 4a, 4b).
Then, pull the remaining 22-gauge wire along the gap between the coils (fig. 4c, 4d).
Continue until you reach the front end of your coiled wire (fig. 4e).

Step 5 of 5
Finally, make another anchor point for your 22-gauge wire on the straight 18-gauge wire (fig. 5a, 5b).
Then, trim off the excess wire using a wire cutter (fig. 5c, 5d).
Well done! You have completed your tutorial.
