Hi my dear wire wrapper!
Last weekend, my family and I went to the beach for an evening walk.
The shore was filled with beautiful sea shells, and it gave me an idea for my next jewelry design.
Let’s recreate a DIY shell necklace pendant in my Wire-Wrapping Elegant Gold Copper Nautilus Bead Pendant Tutorial.

WIRE-WRAPPING ELEGANT GOLD COPPER NAUTILUS BEAD PENDANT TUTORIAL
Step 1 of 6
Ready all items from the Materials and Tool list (fig. 1a).
Form a circular pendant frame by wrapping a 18-gauge copper wire over a wooden ring mandrel for 2 rounds (fig. 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e).
Trim off the excess wire with a wire cutter (fig. 1f, 1g).
Step 2 of 6
Next, form a spiral within the circular pendant frame using a stepped bail-making pliers (fig. 2a, 2b).
Then, use a round nose pliers to form the pendant bail at the outer wire end (fig. 2c, 2d).
Flatten the spiral pendant frame with a hammer on a base metal plate (fig. 2e, 2f).
Step 3 of 6
Moving on, let’s refine the details on your flat spiral pendant.
Mark a sharp narrow inner wire end with a pen and trim it with a wire cutter (fig. 3a, 3b, 3c).
Adjust the bail shape accordingly so it doesn’t scratch on surfaces or skin (fig. 3d).
Your main pendant frame is complete (fig. 3e).
Step 4 of 6
Now, let’s attach a bead onto the center of your spiral pendant frame.
Slip a small round bead onto a 24-gauge gold copper wire (fig. 4a, 4b, 4c).
Then, coil the 24-gauge gold copper wire onto the center frame to secure the bead:
- Top coil (fig. 4d, 4e, 4f).
- Bottom coil (fig. 4g, 4h, 4i).
